A Journey into Stillness. Leaving the vibrant energy of Tokyo or Kyoto behind, your path to Echizen is a transition from the bustle of the city to the quiet rhythm of the clay. Watch the landscape change from the window of the Shinkansen as you prepare your mind for the residency.

From Tokyo (Approx. 3.5hours)

  • Hokuriku Shinkansen "Kagayaki": Tokyo Station → Echizen-Takefu Station (Direct)

    • Note: The most seamless and scenic route.

From Kyoto / Osaka (Approx. 1.5 - 2 hours)

  • Limited Express "Thunderbird" & Shinkansen: Kyoto/Osaka Station → Tsuruga Station (Transfer) → Echizen-Takefu Station

From Kanazawa (Approx. 45 minutes)

  • Hokuriku Shinkansen: Kanazawa Station → Echizen-Takefu Station

Arrival at Echizen-Takefu Station

  • Private Pick-up Service (Available for a fee)
    For your convenience, we offer a private transfer from Echizen-Takefu Station directly to the kominka.​

  • By Taxi
    Taxis are readily available at the station. It is a 15-minute drive (approx. 7000yen).

 

Travel Tip:

We recommend using the "Takkyubin" (Luggage Delivery Service) from the airport or your previous hotel. Send your heavy suitcases directly to our residency so you can enjoy the Shinkansen journey hands-free.
