The program is designed for intermediate to advanced potters, but beginners are more than welcome to join.

Both clockwise and counter-clockwise are available. While the instructor demonstrates in a clockwise direction, please practice in whichever direction you feel most comfortable. 

We use local Echizen clay. It is rich in iron, turning brown in oxidation firing and black in reduction firing.

It is a "Pottery Wheel Marathon." You will throw numerous pieces from a mass of clay.

We set specific benchmarks for everything from basic to complex shapes based on your skill level. Our Pottery Master will provide technical explanations and demonstrations; you will then focus on repetitive practice with the Master offering real-time feedback and corrections.

The one-week program covers clay wedging, throwing, and trimming. You can select up to 2kg of your work, which our staff will then dry, bisque-fire, glaze, and high-fire for you. We will ship the finished pieces to you (shipping costs are the responsibility of the participant).

We use electric kilns. We also offer "cooling reduction" firing, where gas flames are used during the cooling process to achieve a reduction effect.
