Heritage Living
Live within a traditional Japanese farmhouse, where daily life becomes part of the practice.
You stay together in a single century-old kominka Issai-an, sharing a quiet rhythm of daily life with a small group of fellow participants. Sleeping spaces are private rooms divided by fusuma sliding doors—where you sleep on traditional futon bedding spread directly on tatami. Simple, personal, and in keeping with how Japanese homes have been lived in for generations. Mornings and evenings are spent back at the house, with time on the engawa to observe the garden and rest with the surrounding natural sounds.

What This Stay Is — and Is Not
This is a shared living environment, shaped by mutual respect and quiet attentiveness.
It is not a hotel, nor a retreat designed for leisure.
The purpose of staying here is simple:
to remove distractions, settle into a steady rhythm, and allow your days to be shaped by clay, repetition, and rest.
